WOOHOO~ don'tcha just love the Christmas season? Here's an easy project to try...
Luckily they extended the deadline for the Verve challenges... my internet was really slooooooow last night & Mr. Linky was nowhere to be found on the web... so here's my card for the Verve Blog Party challenge #5, and I combined it with this week's colourQ challenge!
I found a pattern of a stocking online, resized it in photoshop to be about 4x4" , and cut it out. The bottom part of the stocking is white cardstock that I first dry embossed using my Scor-Pal to get the diamond pattern. I then embossed the snowflake from Patterned Pines (I'm so lovin' that set!) in clear embossing powder, after which I sponged over with the different colors, and cut out using the stocking pattern. After being trimmed, I matted it with Gable Green. For the top, I ripped a sheet of white cardstock in half, then embossed it using an embossing folder... when I pulled it out I liked the torn edge, so I used that as the bottom edge of the stocking's top. SERENDIPITY!
When I attached the stocking to the base, I lined up where I wanted the gift card to go & then cut up the scraps of pop dots (what's left when all the dots are gone) to 'edge' the gift card. That way it slips in & out easily. Then I put a few more pop dots on the other areas & attached it. Lastly, I added the rhinestones! This will be perfect for Jeff''s niece's Christmas gift this year!
Have a great day & thanks for stopping in!
