"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

PLAYING HOUSE / TPEScrap #16...

Well, I decided to use the sketch, but not the colors of the TPE Scrap Challenge... I haven't gotten to play the last couple weeks & I was just itchin' to!

I try to alternate pages I do between Alex & Maisie. It was time for an Alex page, so I couldn't use the challenge colors... sorry! Hot pink, pink, green & black just wouldn't do for my boy - lol!

Alex likes playing in the foyer and will bring his stuffed animals in to play, too. He sets them all between the wall & the table in the foyer and then just sits there. He says "house?" - like a question. Here he is with Mickey, a bear & a baby.

All of the papers in this digital page I designed myself, except for the school paper the journaling is on.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you get to play along with the Pink Elephant Scrap challenge!

ART IS THE WINDOW / CQC #42, TSG #64 & SSSC #78...

I'm late posting this morning - Maisie had a doc appt. & shots... ughhh! Poor little pumpkin, it broke her heart. But I took her home & fed her, so she's a happy clam now!

Happy Tuesday! Today brings a 'summery' new colourQ challenge, which I've paired here with the challenge over at There She Goes blog to use "polka dots & chipboard", and Karen's awesome Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Isn't this just the cutest image? It's from There She Goes Clear Stamps, called Art Is The Window. Being the observant person that I am, I've run across a few cards lately that left the line stamping uncolored, so I thought I'd give it a go with that... and then stamped, colored & popped up the little window box! That funky red w/ orange polka dotted ribbon is from my stash... all the papers are from SU!, but the patterned papers are retired now...boo! Once I was "done" I thought it looked a little plain, so I added the piercing - a nice touch, I think. And look - no dry embossing! How did I manage?

Bye for now...

MAISIE'S BATH TIME / USSIS #64...

I completely forgot to post this on Saturday! With Maisie starting to teethe, we had a busy & fairly miserable weekend - lol! If she's awake, she wants to be held...

We have a new Unscripted Sketch this week, so cute! I created this digital page of Maisie taking a bath - she LOVES bath time! I've been lucky, both my kiddos love baths! I'll be really glad when she can sit up unassisted - bending over that sink kills my back!

Bye for now...

DAMASK CANDLE / Unscripted Sketches Christmas in July...

This has got to be one of my all-time favorite "go~to" quick gifts around the holidays - STAMPED CANDLES! I'm using turquoise here, my Grammy always decorated her whole house in shades of blue & turquoise at Christmas - she always was a little non-traditional! She would have LOVED these candles!

I used PapertreyInk's Damask set... to be honest, one of the reasons I BOUGHT this set was to make candles - lol!

If you've never seen this, here's a little how-to...

SUPPLIES:
Candles
Stamps
Ink
Tissue Paper
Wax Paper
Heat Gun
Scissors
& Blingy Bling

STAMP your image(s) onto the tissue paper, using white for a white candle is best! Cut out the image fairly close to the edges. Wrap it around the candle to make sure it fits.

Take a piece of wax paper & wrap it (wax side against the tissue) very tightly around the candle, sandwiching the tissue in between. Using your heat gun (be careful - it gets hot!), heat the wax paper until the tissue "disappears". The image will darken up a little, too.

Slowly peel off the wax paper, and violĂ ! Next, set your rhinestones (I always use an exacto to help get them in the right place.) And you're done! This takes less than 10 minutes form start to finish & it's easy!

Since it's Christmas in July, I'll be showing other cool, easy/cheap projects everyday this week! So make sure you check back!

To see the other festivities, check out...

Thanks for dropping by & I hope to see you tomorrow!

PUNNY FARM / TPR #76 & CPS #176...

Baaaaaa! Who doesn't love a couple of purple sheep on a Monday morning?

Today's Pink Elephant Challenge is a color challenge - "BROWN"! Our sponsor this week is My Favorite Things, they provided the stamps, black ribbon AND paper for this card! How sweeeet is that?!? This set is called Punny Farm, there were so many cute images to choose from, but I finally picked the sheep... I LOVE SHEEP! These buttons are also from MFT, from my own personal stash. (The other 2 ribbons & card stock are SU!)

I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems.

For more info on this week's sponsor, the challenge and to check out the other team members' super awesome cards, go visit the Pink Elephant! We'd LOVE to have you play along this week!

Bye for now!
