"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SANTA'S LITTLE HELPER / Sketchy Thursdays FB Sketch...

Sketchy Thursdays has a fun challenge going on.... you can only find their secret sketch by "Liking" them on Facebook! All entries have to be loaded there as well.... WOOHOO, what a super cool idea!

So I can't show you the sketch here, but it was fun! The kits for this LO are both by Meredith Cardall, Joyous Season and Shabby Sugarplums. Stitching and ribbon were scrounged from other kits. If you need the names, just shoot me an email - I'll be happy to get them for you!

Have a great night & thanks for stopping by!

THANK YOU so very much / CQC #65, Mojo #171 & PTW...

WOOHOO - it's the LAST colourQ Challenge of the year!!!I loved these colors today - I picked them out special! I hope we have over 100 people play this week - wouldn't that be so awesome!!!

This card was made for Papertake Weekly's challenge... I was supposed to email it in to be included in the post today, but mis-read the deadline... I guess I'm just getting old - lol! I also used the Mojo sketch - so cute!

So, have you got big plans for New Year's? Jeff & the kids and I are escaping to the lake for a few days... so it's probably going to be pretty quiet around here.... EXCEPT for ADFD release on Friday & Unscripted on Saturday! I'll be scheduling those!!! Whatever you do, be safe & have fun!

Bye for now!

MY FAVORITE EARRINGS / FTL #121...

Happy release day over at A Day For Daisies!!! The new images will be up in the store later today in the Just Picked section of the shop.

I have to admit, I RARELY use a sketch more than once, but this week's Fall-to Layout was just TOO PERFECT!

I bought this journal a few years ago at Target, and decided to decorate it for my sister-in-law - hope she likes it! This image is called My Favorite Earrings.... so beautiful! I digitally paper pieced it then use Copics over that.

Merry Christmas, I hope you have a blessed and beautiful day full of family & friends!!!

LEGGO MY LEGOs / IB #62...

I played along with Inspired Blueprints this week, before I started scrapbooking I would look at IB & daydream about joining in the fun!

So we celebrated Christmas early with Jeff's family since his sister was going out of town for the holiday & Alex got some Lego Duplos... HE LOVES THEM! And so does Maisie! What he builds she takes apart & he says "NO Maisie, Maisie STOP!" Until a month ago he didn't seem to mind her following him all over the house trying to play with whatever he was playing with... I guess he's growing up - lol!

All papers & elements are Summertime by Creatively by Crystal at Jessica Sprague. Stitching is Border Basics by Libby Weifenbach, from Sweet Shoppe Designs. Sorry, I can't remember where the frames or ric rac came from.

Nighty~night!

DEAR SANTA... / STTT #28...

We saw Santa!!! I thought I was excited, but Alex was SUPER excited - he ran right over, jumped in Santa's lap, and hugged him for what seemed like forever. When he finally let go, Santa said "Whew - I can breathe!".

Maisie was a sport, she waited to have a meltdown AFTER the pics were snapped! YAY, I'm so happy we got good pictures for me to digi scrap!

I love Cosmo Cricket paper, and was SO HAPPY when Jessica Sprague started selling the digital Cosmo Cricket. I used Oh Joy for this LO, inspired by the challenge over at Sketches in Thyme - Thursday Takes #28. The stitching, buttons and ribbon were all scrounged from other kits I have.

I'm also entering this over at City Crafter for their "Vintage Christmas" theme!

See you later!

NOELLE BABY BUD / CQC #64 & FTL #121...

Good morning! I'm sure this week is just whirlwind of activity! We have a new challenge for you over at the colourQ today, lovely red, green and pinks! I used Noelle Baby Bud for my card - isn't she a doll?

The Fall-to Layout is super fun this week, so I combined it with the colourQ challenge AND the winter/Christmas themed challenge over at Baby Bud Designs. The digi image is from Baby Bud , they have the cutest blog! You can find Noelle here.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but I used some glitter on the trim of her hat! The ric rac is from my stash, the rose ribbon is retired from SU!, the scalloped paper was crimped. The paper is K & Company Peppermint Twist collection, that I bought last year and never used! I used that same paper for the pleated tree I showed you yesterday! Anyway, I gotta finish up a layout I started, so I'll see you a little later!

Bye for now...

PLEATED CHRISTMAS TREE...

No card today, but here is a little mini tutorial for a pleated Christmas tree! I like quirky little decor items, and this little tree fit the bill!

You'll need:

- patterned paper (12x12)
- Styrofoam cone
- small pot
- a wooden dowel
- pins (the sewing kind)
- border punch
- crimper
- ornament or ribbon
- ruler
- marker

1 - Punch a border on 1 side of a 12" piece of patterned paper, then cut it into a 2 inch strip. You'll need 12 strips, 2 for each pattern.

2 - Take the cone and measure mark in one inch increments. Repeat measuring/marking around the cone a few more times, this will help you keep the paper straight!

3 - Crimp each of the strips.

4 - Pin the top of one of the strips right under the first mark you made at the bottom of the tree. Then pleat/pin the paper as you go. You'll be about an inch short of paper each time you go around, so just piece & pin some into place to complete each row. That's why I said 2 strips of each pattern. As you go up the cone, your pleats will get smaller each time.

To finish, make a little ring of paper to crown the top & stick on a Christmas ornament or a bow or whatever... I was feeling a little goofy, so I used an ornament. Stick a wooden dowel into the bottom of the cone & stake it into a little pot! Voilà!

This post is also over at the Pink Elephant today! We also have a great post on Christmas tags, so go check that out!
Have a Happy Monday!

CHRISTMAS LIGHT FAIRY / ADFD #8, TPE TAGS & CP #94...

There's a fun new challenge underway over at A Day For Daisies, the theme is "Tinsel & Tags!" and we'd love for you to play along!

We also have a fun post over at The Pink Elephant all about tags - come over there and upload for a surprise from Lori, and see what the rest of the TPE Girls created! I used Card Patterns latest sketch for my little tag.

The image is from A Day For Daisies, called Christmas Light Fairy - how darling!!! As you can see I threw everything but the kitchen sink onto this tag! I painted the buttons with stickles, tossed on a bit of tinsel ribbon, and violà!!! A great project for any scraps you have laying about!

Have a happy Friday!
