"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SAY IT WITH SCALLOPS...

Not only is Say it with Scallops way cute, but for each Say It with Scallops set sold, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 of the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This set coordinates with SU!'s Scallop Square punch.

You can get a gift for yourself and be charitable at the same time!

I used the bleaching technique with the Baroque Motifs set, and then stamped the Priceless image in Bravo Burgundy classic ink, which I also used to distress the edges of the card.

STAMPs: Say it with Scallops, Baroque Motifs, Priceless
INKs: Bravo Burgundy
PAPERs: Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron, More Mustard
EMBELLISHMENTS: Scallop Square punch, Bravo Burgundy grosgrain

MISTED UPSY DAISY...

Okay~ another very simple swap card! I've been doing a lot of swaps lately... usually after Alex goes to bed...

I wanted to show off the Urban Garden paper a little bit, as well as the Upsy Daisy stamp set by Stampin' Up!. For this card I used Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, and Not Quite Navy cardstacks which matches the paper. I stamped the image in Not Quite Navy classic ink onto whisper white cardstock that I had misted with water, so it looks sorta washed. After it dried I punched it out with the 1 3/4 inch circle punch, which is new to SU!. The other circles were made with either the Coluzzle or smaller circle punches.

Swaps are a fun way to share new ideas. If you are interested in joining a swap, check out the swaps on SplitCoastStampers.

STAMPs: Upsy Daisy, Heard from the Heart
INKs: Not Quite Navy
PAPERs: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, and Not Quite Navy Cardstock, Urban Gardens dsp
EMBELLISHMENTS: Various circle punches, Mini Library Clips

CRACKED FAUX SILK...

... is that a new technique?

I recently made 10 or more of these for a swap, that's why they're kinda simple! But I also worked on a newish (?) technique that I didn't want to detract from.

For the Upsy Daisy (Stampin'Up!) image, I stamped in Versamark onto tissue paper & clear embossed it. Then I wadded the paper up, opened it again & flattened it out. I ran a piece of whisper white cardstock through my Xyron, then spread the tissue over it and rubbed it on. I then used sponges to apply the ink. I really like the way the ink stuck in the cracks of the embossing. I'll definitely tuck this idea away for a rainy day!

STAMPs: Upsy Daisy
INKs: Versamark, Summer Sun, and Tangerine Tango
PAPERs: Tangerine Tango CS & DSP, Summer Sun, and Whisper White
EMBELLISHMENTS: Tissue Paper, More Mustard brad, Photo Corners Punch, tear bar

CHEERS TO YOU...

This is the cutest little set from Stampin' Up! called 'Cheers to You'. The other set used for the background orange slices is 'Tart and Tangy'.

I made these for an In-Color swap hosted by a fellow SU! demo, Rebecca Roy from Louisville, Ky. So if you're in that area and need some supplies, look her up!

Obviously this card is a bit simple, which is good when you are making 12 of them... Anyway, what you can't see is that after watercoloring the drink using my ink pads, I paper pieced the umbrella with Baja Breeze designer paper. Then I squirted Crystal Effects on the glass & stem... it puddled so nicely it did look like glass! After that dried, I added a line of Crystal Effects to the rim of the glass and poured salt over it. Once dried, I shook off the excess salt! So no~ this card is NOT acid-free... but it is tasty!

STAMPs: Cheers to You and Tart & Tangy
INKs: Versamark, Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red, and Tangerine Tango
PAPERs: Baja Breeze CS & DSP, Taken with Teal, Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, and Whisper White
EMBELLISHMENTS: Striped Grosgrain in Baja Breeze, Crystal Effects, 3-dimensionals, Scallop Punch and 1 3/4 Circle Punch
