"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

BELLA TOILE TILES / PDC #23 & TSSC #115...

Good morning! Imagine my surprise (& me doing the "Hot Dog" dance) when I got an email from Julie Marray over at the Play Date Cafe asking me to be a guest designer!!! SUPER COOL!

Although I have a hard time with monochromatics, I think I actually did okay! It's kinda on the shabby/chic side - less shabby more chic... I probably should have shabbied it more... sorry, I think I'm talking to myself ...

I started making Thursdays my "Play Date with the Play Date" a while back... they have great colors every week! Usually I check in first thing on Thursday mornings and spend the rest of the day scheming... I don't make it every week, but when I do miss a color combo, I make it a point to play the next week! If you've got the time, please head over to the Play Date Cafe & join in!!!
I combined their lovely colors with Mary Jo's sketch this week, but again I took some liberties - lol!

So yeah, the colors were a little hard - but I do love a challenge! The colors reminded me of Dutch Delft tiles (my hubby's family is Dutch Indo) so I knew I had to try my hand at making some using the cracked glass technique! Using the Stampin' Up! background stamp, Bella Toile, I inked up with Pacific Point ink (retired) and then watercolored some Bashful Blue into it. The I did the cracked glass... one of my tiles didn't want to "crack" so much!

Thanks so much for visiting - make sure to join us at the Play Date Cafe this week!
