"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

HEY THERE / ADFD Showcase...

Happy Friday! We are showcasing a really sweet set this week over at A Day For Daisies' blog and starting our new challenge - get KRAFT~y! I used the image Kangaroo Ballet! SO SO ADORABLE! I also used a sentiment from the Paper Smooches set, Sentiment Sampler. The papers are from a digital kit by Pixels and Company, Bermuda Triangle. I printed the image and the papers for the paper piecing on the kraft paper.

Have a great day!

Curry Chicken Salad with Pears, Pecans and Raisins

Let the summer lunches begin! Alex A-L-W-A-Y-S wants a sandwich. Maisie usually wants peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. But today my little sweetie was clamoring for chicken salad. The last one I made was my regular Awesome-est Chicken Salad, so I decided to mix it up this time and make one with curry. Alex and I loved it - Maisie ate half... I think she was just sleepy!

Curry Chicken Salad with Pears, Pecans and Raisins

Ingredients:
2 - 10oz cans - Valley Fresh Organic Canned Chicken Breast In Water, drained
1/3 cup - Pears, diced small
1/4 cup - Green Onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons - Pecans, chopped
3 tablespoons - Raisins
3 teaspoons - Curry powder
1/2 teaspoon - Salt
1/2 teaspoon - Black
2/3 cup - Kraft Mayo With Olive Oil Reduced Fat

Mix it all up! I started with a 1/2 cup of mayo and then added more, since the kids like it a little creamier. We also like green onions around here, so reduce that amount if you want.

This chicken salad is great served in a pita! If you make it, enjoy! And let me know what you think!

Lots of love,

HELLO (again!) / DS #153...

Good morning! I started working on this post last night and came down with a migraine... getting going this morning has been tough! Today's card is for the newest Deconstructed Sketch, which is very cool! I love the structure of this card - I may have to use this sketch again, soon! I used two of my favorite Papertrey Ink sets, Wet Paint and Bigger Blooms.

THANKS / CQC #243...

Happy Tuesday!!! It's colourQ time... we have some gorgeous colors today! I got a little funky today... faux stitching and  hazy watercolor~y images! The set is called Daisies and Paisleys from Paper Smooches. The PTI Make It Monday from last week was to watercolor over stamped images, so I decided to try it with these images. My first use of this technique was on this card - fun stuff!

Big hugs!!!

HELLO / RS #116, PTI's MIM #165 & CTD #293...

Hello! We have a new RetroSketch for you today, based on one of my cards. I decided to try Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday, to do an artsy watercolor background. I created a mask for my stamping using a circle die & an old receipt. The sets are Wet Paint and Doodlie-Do, two of my absolute favorites. I also played along with the Color Throwdown's gorgeous colors this week!

Bye for now!

MY COW / ADFD Showcase...

Hey there - HAPPY FRIDAY! We are still showing off some "oldie but goodie" images from A Day For Daisies this week on the ADFD blog. I picked this adorable image, My Cow, for my card today - I just love it! I colored the girl first, and then I was scared to put the spots on the cow - what if they turned out weird? I always do things backwards - LOL!

Have a great day!

A FRIEND IS A SMILE / DS #152...

Good morning! Having a good week so far? Today is Maisie's last day at her preschool, Alex's ended last week. She's so funny, some days she has wanted to go to school and others she has wanted to stay home with Alex. We're going to have a fun summer and I am so excited about not having to get up and get them ready for school for the next couple months!

We have a wonderfully fun new sketch for you today over at the Deconstructed Sketch... I super love it! I used two of my favorite sets from My Favorite Things -  DC Abstract Art and LJD Cheerful Blessings. I would love for Lisa to design 10 more sets of sentiments as beautiful as this one!

Be sure to to play along and check out all the other ladies wonderful inspiration this week!

Have an awesome day!

Big hugs!

KANGAROO DELIVERY / ADFD Showcase & Challenge #96...

Hello! Yes, it's late... I've been running around all afternoon! I went to the gym and walked for an hour, then we went out to Japanese for Jeff's dad's birthday! The kids love sitting and watching the hibachi chef's mad skills! I admit, it IS kind of exciting!

We are showcasing some previous sets this week, On the Farm and Kangaroo Fun! Be sure to check out all the new inspiration over on the A Day For Daisies blog

We also started a new challenge, to CASE a Card! I used this sweet image, Kangaroo Delivery to CASE Mila's adorable card!

See you tomorrow!

HAPPY FOR YOU / DS #151 & CQC #241...

Hey there and HAPPY THURSDAY! My baby boy is out of school already & Maisie still has another 6 days, so we have a weird schedule this week! I was coming and going all morning. I tried to get up early, but felt like I had been drugged! Both the kids ended up in my bed last night & according to my Fitbit, although I was in bed for 6 h and 10 min I only slept 5 h and 40 min ~ I was awakened 9 times!!! No wonder I felt like I had been run over by a truck! Both the kids crowd me almost completely off the bed when they sneak in... even though it's a king size. If I weren't so paranoid, I would lock my door at night to keep them out. Jeff's so lucky to work at night and sleep during the day!

This card is for this week's colourQ, as well as Deconstructed Sketch. I love Jen's sketches, they really push me to think outside the box! I used Papertrey Ink's Doodlie-Do stamp set, and stamped in onto grid paper in brown ink, then colored some of it in with Copics.

Be sure to to play along and check out all the other ladies wonderful inspiration!

Have an terrific day!

FLY / RS #114...

We have a new RetroSketch for you today - I love this sketch based on Laurie's card! I went a little crazy with it - LOL! The sentiment, found in Paper Crane, and tag die are both from Reverse Confetti. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. The paint chip is from Wal-Mart. (hee~hee!) I love that it had the word 'butterfly' on it!

Have a great day!
