"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

GREENHOUSE GALA POCKET CARD / USSIS #66...

When I saw the new Unscripted Sketch for the week, I immediately thought of a pocket card...

Whew, I'm SO LOVING this Greenhouse Gala paper by Stampin' Up!... super YUMMY! The two sides were made from one of the label nesties. I cut the largest out with the orange paper & then next smallest out with the patterned paper, I adhered them, and then I cut it in half. The back and front of the pocket are one piece that I folded over... on the back I used a border punch and on the front I used the same nestie. I also cut a piece of patterned paper for the front to fit & cut it out with the nestie as well. The rest is pretty obvious, I think. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The brads are some I picked up at Wal-e-world...

Thanks for dropping by...

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS II / FTL #100 & PPC #23...

I am lovin' this big gingham ribbon - so awesome! the two yards I bought last weekend are halfway gone................ must................buy...............more..................

I used the FAB Fall-to Layout #100th sketch... such a nice one, too! I paired it with the colors over at Picture Perfect Creations... I did add black, though! It's a neutral, right? I have recently added a bunch of new challenges to my lust [Freudian slip - lol?!?], I mean challenge list (look in the right hand column).

I used Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms II and Signature Greetings. In the centers of all the flowers are black rhinestones. I also used one of Martha's border punches, too!

Thanks for looking...

GREENHOUSE GALA / TESC #122...

One of my dear co-workers is moving on to a bigger & better job, and today is her last day. So I made this quick card for her...

I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions ~ SO CUTE!!! And look at this awesome paper from Stampin' Up! called Greenhouse Gala.... LOVE IT!!! The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The little tag (which is one of my favorite embellishments these days) is also SU!, the jewelry tag.

Sorry this is so quick... see you real soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEANNE!!!!

Late yesterday afternoon I found out today is LeAnne's birthday! What could I do? It was too late to send a card... so I organized a little Mini Birthday Blog Hop in her honor!

LeAnne is one of the most talented and sweetest people you'll ever come across! The first time I talked to her on the phone, she seemed like a familiar friend! She always has the nicest comments, and has a way of making people feel special! I am very blessed to know her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY my friend!!!

I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for LeAnne's card... sweets for the sweet! The stamps are from Papertrey, Ink, Everday Button Bits. I also used PTI's buttons & added rhinestones to the tops of them! The paper is from my gigantic stash... I wish I could remember the name!

BTW, LeAnne, I'm mailing your card to you, too!
Love ya & big birthday hugs!!!

Thanks for stopping by & please go check out the other Birthday cards made by the FAB designers below... plus you can still join in & make a card for LeAnne if you go to the main page...

WOVEN HEART / CQC #43 & 2S4Y #57...

It's a colourQ Tuesday!!! We have some super swell colors this week, I hope you can play along!!!

I took strips of cardstock, some of which I embossed, and patterned paper and wove them together. I tore a square of white paper & used a heart nestability to cut it out & then I did some faux stitching. The brown frilly ribbon is some I got at the sewing center this past weekend, I couldn't believe it matched!!! YAY! On the bottom of the card I adhered punched hearts from the same color stock, although it's hard to see. The last little accent are three PTI buttons...

Thanks so much for looking!

FOREST FRIENDS / TPE #77 & ACT #40...

Good morning! Yes, I KNOW it's Monday, but it's still good... BECAUSE we have a brand new Pink Elephant challenge for you today... YAY!

This week's sponsor at The Pink Elephant Challenge is Cocoa Studio Designs, a cool digi shop with some of the cutest digi stamps around! Go visit The Pink Elephant for more info on Cocoa Stdio Designs & info on how to win a set of your own playing this week's TPE sketch challenge!!! I used Stacey's awesome colors this week for my card, too! I missed her last challenge, so I just HAD to play along this week!

The stamps on this card are from a Cocoa Studio Designs set called, Forest Friends. You know I can't resist flowers, so I layered 3 of the flowers from this kit and did some digital paper piecing! This is the second card I've done this week with this digital technique & I love it! It's so easy & the possibilities are limitless! I used my Cuttlebug EF, Houndstooth, on the white layer with some faux stitching. Most of the buttons are Papertrey Ink, and I looped 2 pieces of the wide gingham ribbon through one of the buttons. The top ribbon I trimmed to look like it had been tied through somehow... The sentiment is from PTI, the Tea Time Accessories, I think. The tag is a punch from Stampin' Up!, the Jewelry Tag punch.

Have an awesome day & hope you get to play along at TPE this week!!!

BIRTHDAY FILLABLE FRAMES #4 / PTI July Blog Hop

My grandfather will be 85 tomorrow. I thought that this challenge to use office supplies would be great for his card, since he still works full time! He's a plumber... most folks would say the best, most honest one in town! I would have to agree...

For my entry into PTI's blog hop this month, I used Papertrey Ink's Fillable Frames #4, the matching die, Signature Greetings, and Women of Life for the sentiments. I love that you can mix & match all of these - lol! The base is Kraft, a layer of Aqua Mist, and a layer of Dotty Biscotti Hawaiian Shores. The ledger paper is from Stampin' Up!. For embellishments I used a paperclip, eyelets, staples & a metal rimmed circle tag I bought from an office supply place years ago that I had in my stash.

Thanks so much for "hopping" by!

HANNAH w/ LOLLIPOP / C&C #2 & CP #74...

Happy Sunday! Just a quick post before church... I was up til 1am working on this card... I really need to stop doing that - lol!

I used the monthly challenge from Claudia & Company to use pink & turquoise, and paired it with the cute sketch over at Card Patterns this week. This also qualified for the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge (thanks Linda!!!) to use a digi image.

This digital image is by artist Lori Boyd. She sent it to her Pink Elephant "Girls" - and I think it's adorable!!! She's both paper pieced and colored with Copics. See that trim? I went to our local sewing shop yesterday (I had a couple hours off from mom duty to get a pedicure!) WHERE HAVE I BEEN? Maybe it's a good thing I haven't been in there before... I spent $30 on ribbon... I got this particular one in 7 different colors - lol!

Gotta go - see you later for the PTI bloghop!

LIPSTICK IS NOT A TOY / USSIS #65...

Jeff called me the other morning to say our son had found a tube of lipstick. I could hear Alex shrieking in the background. You know you're a scrapper when your first question is, "Did you take a picture?" - lol!

Jeff had already cleaned it off of his arms, shoulders, & chest, but did snap this one picture. Alex only drew on himself, which is just amazing, considering all the other things he could have chosen! So for the Unscripted Sketches Sketch It Saturday Challenge, I went with a simple layout & not many embellishments on this digi page. I wanted the image to be the main focus. I matched the journaling & title color with the lipstick. And the tear is from Tiffany Tilllman... so cool! You just use her Photoshop file & add 2 papers & they get merged together for this realistic, curled tear. I love it - you can add tears to anything!

Enjoy your weekend, & I hope you get to play along with us at Unscripted!!!

WONDERFUL YOU [WITH SYMPATHY] / FTL #99...

You ever make a card for a challenge & then realize you made a mistake with one of the colors? This was supposed to be for the Color Throwdown, but I used Baja instead of the new Marina Mist.... oh well... I still like it - lol!

I used the Fall-to Layout #99...woohooo almost to 100 - I can't wait! I stamped the flower onto the patterned paper twice & cut them both out. Isn't this paper gorgeous? It's from Stampin' Up!, called Greenhouse Gala. The top flower I curled up a bit & added grey rhinestones. The EF is from Cuttlebug.

Whew, I just put the last kiddo down for the night - yay! Now if I can muster up some energy to craft...

Bye for now...

ELLA LOLLIPOP / TE SKETCH...

Here's a quick card using Lori Boyd's digi stamp, Ella Lollipop. I printed it waaaay too big, so I decided just to use her head!

I missed out signing up for this month's Taylored Expressions Customer Blog Hop, but I LOVED this sketch, so I had to use it! The papers are from October Afternoon, Thrift Shop. I love their papers, but they're sorta weathered looking, so I did some distressing to try to balance everything. I even tried to distres the Wal-Mart gingham ribbon, but the ink hardly shows in the photo.

Hope you're having a great day!

WONDERLAND / MTSC #83, PDCC #38 & TGF FFF...

Here's a quick card for several challenges... don't you just love these mushrooms? SO COOL!!! And the bunny is cute as pie, too!

I wanted to make sure to play along with Mercy's cool sketch this week, I'm always sad when I realize I missed one of her sketches! It's been a while since I did a Greeting Farm challenge, too... so this past Friday's Farm Fresh was on my list, too! When I saw the awesome colors at the Play Date Café, I knew I was ready to get cookin'!

For TGF, we were to use a digi & a new~ish technique. Here I've done digital paper piecing, using TGF's set, Wonderland. You know I'm a sucker for paper piecing! If anyone is interested in a little tutorial on digi paper piecing, let me know & I can throw one together for those using Photoshop.

Have a great day!
