Good morning! We have a brand new challenge up over at the Pink Elephant using the colors brown & orange! AND a chance to win the digital set that I used for this card, just for playing along!
Our sponsor at the Pink Elephant is Kathy Martin, the SUPER TALENTED designer of Digital Doodles! Her sets are sold exclusively through Two Peas In A Bucket and can be found here!
The fall theme also fits in with the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges. All the papers on this card are digital by Echo Park. They are sold through Jessica Sprague exclusively. A nice thing about Kathy's Digital Doodles is that the files have a clear background! You can remove a white background from an image in Photoshop, but usually you lose some of the images line in the process. Hers being clear makes it a snap to "digitally" paper piece her images, which is what I've done here. I'll be doing a tutorial on this in the next week or so over at the Pink Elephant.
For those of you who don't have "fancy" computer programs and have been scared to try digital stamps & papers, here's a tutorial on using Word to work with digis! I have to admit, I'm usually the last person to jump on the bandwagon on new "advancements" when it comes to my art... I refused to buy a digital camera for YEARS - I couldn't bear to part with my Pentax and working in the darkroom. But honestly, I couldn't even tell you where my 'old' cameras are now! I was the same about digis - I guess I'm sentimental about the actual process of stamping. I'll never completely go digi, but it does have some advantages!
- Digis don't take up any physical space.
- Since there are no boxes/bags coming into the house, my hubby has no idea what I'm spending on them - lol!
- You can use them over and over and over & never run out!
- You can save the files you set up for a card and make it again very easily.
- You can resize papers and stamps when they are digital.
- You can even change the colors of digital papers - which means infinite uses!
These are just a few. But I still like rubber and acrylic and ink... I'm sure I always will.
