"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

STARS & POLKA DOTS FOREVER / CQC #39 & 2S4Y # 55...

Good morning! It is Tuesday, and that means a smashing new challenge over at the colourQ...

I was feeling a little (okay~ maybe a LOT) patriotic when I found this color combination for this week's colourQ challenge and I immediately wanted to use little squares to emulate the inspiration photo... How perfect that Laura's sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You had little squares! YAY!

This was a super quick card! I punched out 4 scalloped squares with Stampin' Up!'s Scallop Square punch and a 1 1/4 inch square of each color. Then I punched out a star from each color using the Small Star punch from SU!, and then punched out a 1 1/4" square around the negative space from the star, which I adhered using dimensionals to the solid color squares. Maybe a 10 minute card! The ribbon is also SU!, Real Red 3/4" Polka Dot Grosgrain - LOVE IT! This ribbon will disappear at the end of the day tomorrow - so if you like it, you better grab some!

Bye for now & thanks so much for dropping by!

I love how you placed a coordinating color behind each punched star-it makes for a very striking focal point! Lovely embossing, too!
