"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

MAKE A WISH / PTW #42 & TPE Scrap #11...

Here's a LO of Alex blowing out his candle... his birthday theme was trains - he's realy gotten into them lately! I got his little engineer hat at the zoo after we rode the train there, it's SO CUTE!

For this LO I used the Papertake Weekly sketch and combined it with the b/w pic + color layout at The Pink Elephant Scrap Challenge. This also was made for a little challenge over at Sunshine Studio Scraps for their 2nd Birthday Festivities... since they're the same age as Alex I thought that would be cool - lol!

All the papers & elements on this LO came from Sunshine Studio Scraps. I mixed & matched a few kits for this, but the main 2 were All Aboard & Point Break. They have some gorgeous kits! My style of digital is a little different than most, I like to play with the papers & layer them as if they were the real thing. A lot of scrappers are making beautiful LOs that look magazine~ish, but alas that not "me". As you know I'm pretty new to digi scrapping, I think this is LO number 7? Lucky 7...

Someone asked about the b&w photo with the splash of color. In order to get the train in color & the rest of the photo in black & white is pretty simple, but you do need to have a program that lets you work in layers. All I did was copy the color picture & paste it onto a new layer. Then I turned that layer into b&w & using the eraser tool, erased the train so that the color photo would show through.

Have a gorgeous weekend & hope you get to do something FUN!

Your scrap pages ROCK, Arielle! I LOVE your style :) Alex is a cutie and I love how you have the train coloured and the rest black and white. How'd you do that?
