A NOTE / CSCC #15 - Casablanca...

For this week's inspiration challenge over at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, I "pulled out all the punches" (sorry~ I couldn't help myself! LOL!) and created a piano keys as my take on Casablanca. One aspect of the challenge that I failed to notice was that we could only use black, white & one other color. Well~ serendipity!

The piano keys are just strips of white & I used the Stampin' Up! corner rounder punch (the narrow one) to round off the bottom of the keys. The black keys were done the same way! I used Martha Stewart little ball point pen glue & glitter for the sentiment, which I wrote onto a curly label punched piece.

BOTANICAL BLOOMS / AmyR's #45 & Kwerner's #39...

As I was finishing up posting the previous card, I decided to see if KWerner's Color Inspiration was up & it was! So I quickly whipped up another card, which I just L-O-V-E thanks to Amy's Sketch!
I mistakenly used Ridinghood Red instead of Real Red (well, it WAS around midnight!). Also used Botanical Blooms again, which is such a great little 2-step set, and a little faux stitching.

PINK PASSION TRUTHINESS / MOJO #70 & CT #26...

Yes, a strange name for a card, but that's what popped into my head! Truthiness, by definition, is an in your face sorta thing, like the color Pink Passion. I had to open this pack of Pink Passion cardstock to make this card. It's sat on my shelf for a couple years now & I've never used it! I'm more of an Earth Elements/Rich Regals gal.
So I got a chance to play again with this week's Color Throwdown #26, as well as Julee's Mojo Monday #70! YAY! I can only stamp when Alex goes to bed, and with him teething (3rd tooth in 4 weeks!) he's been very restless.... so I try to combine as many challenges as possible!

This set is from Stampin' Up!'s upcoming Sale-A-Bration, which starts on February 1st, 2009. It's called Botanical Blooms... cute, isn't it? I'm a sucker for flowers!

For this card I used the Kraft dsp from the old hostess prints pack, and also used my Big Shot to cut & emboss the black circle ( this embossing folder was from another vendor, but SU! now has texture plates~ I can't wait to try them!) as well as cut the pink scalloped circle. I colored in the images with watercolor wonder crayons.

Where to begin? This card is based on 4 challenges; Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #51, Color Throwdown #25, Our Creative Corner's Technique Challenge, and Stamp Something's Birthday Challenge.
