ADD A LITTLE COLOR / TAWS Sneak Peeks Day #1...

Hi, I have missed crafting the last few days! Still under the weather... had a burst of energy yesterday afternoon and spent it all on kitchen cleaning and laundry and now I feel bad again. HA! But I am working on a doctor appointment for this afternoon so keep your fingers crossed!

Good morning! We're all still sick around here, but the kids are getting better!  We are starting a new sketch this week over at The Deconstructed Sketch - super fun, isn't it??? AND - it's a PRIZE WEEK! Be sure to head over there and check it out!

I used 2 sets from The Alley Way Stamps, Give Thanks and It's Fall About You. That simple leaf is one of my favorites! The papers are by Basic Grey - Persimmon! And guess who is a new member on the BG Team? Me!!! I'm doing hybrid paper/digital crafting for them - YAY!

BLESSINGS / CQC #216...

Good morning! We started a new challenge for the week over at colourQ - I love this fall colors!!! I went with a really simple card using the set First Fruits by Papertrey Ink. I really love this set - so so elegant and gorgeous!

My little babies woke up with a fever today. They don't seem too sick, but my folks (and my nephew!) have had the flu - so I'm afraid that's where we might be headed. They haven't left the couch much all morning. I woke up with Alex breathing in my face and they have been very huggy/kissy, so I hope I'm not next!

WHAT'S PERKING? / DS #127 & TAWS BIC #41...

Hello! Happy Friday! We have a new sketch over at The Deconstructed Sketch and the second week of the TAWS Be Inspired Challenge. I loved the inspiration of the polka dots, so I went with that!

The set is Breakfast Club - it's my new favorite. I know - I already said that - LOL! I just LOVE coffee, I usually make my own at home, but my sweet sweet hubby brought me a double shot Latte with whipped cream this morning... he's a keeper!

THANKFUL / CQC #215...

Hello! The temperature gauge was close to 80 today and has dipped into the 30s tonight... I think we're skipping fall and keep yo-yo-ing between summer and winter! I'm kinda sad, too - because fall is my FAVE season! For this week's new colourQ challenge I thought it would be fun to use the little hanger from the new set In Stitches by The Alley Way Stamps, and leaves from It's Fall About You to make a little fall card.

FAUX QUILT SQUARES...

Hello! I have a little tutorial for you today, and it's an easy one, too! I have always loved the look of quilts and have just started learning to sew my own. This project has the quilt~y look, with none of the sewing! You can make your own paper pieced quilt squares to frame, make tags out of them, even iron-ons for shirts or aprons. Supply list:

• Your digital kit – I used Deena Rutter’s Woodsong Papers
• Quilt block diagram - I found mine here: http://tinyurl.com/lma8c2p
• Ruler & scissors or paper trimmer
• frame

Start by picking out a quilt block diagram and open it in a Photoshop.  I placed mine on an 8.5"x11" canvas. Since my frame's opening is 8"x8", I sized mine so there would be a nice white border.

1 - Select each open area in the block and erase it. Then create a new layer for each opening and fill the area on the new layer - I used black. This will make it a snap to clip your papers and move them around.

2 - Take the layer with your black guide and invert it to white.

  

3 - Add your papers, clipping them to each layer. Print it out.

4 - Trim off any excess and put it in your frame.

I hope you'll give it a try, it's a super easy and quick project that would make a cute gift!

Good morning!!! We have a great new sketch for you this this week over at RetroSketches! I know I say that all the time, but it's always true! I enjoy simple cards so much. I used 2 sets from The Alley Way Stamps for this card, Breakfast Club and Delicate Doilies - both are favorites of mine.
