MEDALLION SNOWFLAKE / SSSC #46, EIC #64 & VSNOV09c...

Doesn't this Medallion stamp look like a giant snowflake? I just love it...

I decided to get an early jump on the Sweet Sunday Sketch, I usually wait until the last minute! I also decided to play along with a new-to-me challenge, EtsyInspired. They feature an Etsy shop & you browse around it for your inspration! Very cool! This is also the third challenge for the Verve Blog Party.

Here's what I used for the 3rd Verve challenge...

V - Velvet ribbon
E - Embossing powder
R - Rhinestones
V - Vellum
E - Embossing (dry)

The stamp is called Medallion from Stampin' Up! I recently viewed a demo by Shelli Gardner (SU!'a founder & CEO) at the Cincinnati Regional Seminar where she clear embossed the Medallion & then sponged ink onto it... so here's my take on it ~ too easy! I placed a few clear rhinestones on it and the velvet ribbon to add a little bling appeal. The vellum square I ran through the Big Shot with an embossing plate. Lastly, I added a little retired sentiment to the bottom right corner & embossed it in silver.

2 more to go, will I make it?

CHRISTMAS GINGERBREAD MAN / VSNOV09b & CD #44...

I love gingerbread men, but I don't have any gingerbread man stamps... no matter, I didn't need any for this card!

This is the second Verve Challenge, in celebration of their new release... I loved the colors from the Color Dare this week, they reminded me of Christmas cookies, so I immediately knew what I wanted to do with this card

I found an outline of a gingerbread man that I wanted to use online, resized, printed, traced, then cut it out of the patterned paper, Autumn Traditions. The red striped paper is form the collection, Merry Moments.

2 down & 3 more to go...

WONDROUS GIFT / TSSC97 & VSNOV09a...

Verve is having a new release party... I figured I try to do all 5 of their challenges today...

This is the first Verve Challenge, and I paired it with Mary Jo's awesome sketch from last Tuesday.

There is really no stamping here... the sentiment is one I set up in Photoshop. Verve has such beautiful sentiments, most of them scripture, and they are always so perfect! This is my rather vain attempt to emulate them... I cut the sentiment out using my labels 2 nestability & finally tried stippling around the edges with the ink before I popped it out of the die... I love how it turned out! I also used 2 Stampin' Up! papers, Night & Day and Old Olive Patterns.

See you again soon!

MODERN SEASON OF JOY / DCBD #155...

Wow ~ I've managed to make 3 cards today... crazy, I know...

I've been thinking about the Diva Coffee Break Sketch for the last 2 days, trying to formulate a plan. It's such a great sketch, I really wanted to do it justice!

The dsp is called Thoroughly Modern, and the stamp set is Season of Joy. I used another stamp from this set on a card a few days ago. I've been getting a lot of use from the In-Color markers lately, too... I'm so glad they started making them! I couldn't have done the sentiment without them! Well.... I guess I could have, it just would have been hard!

Thanks for stopping by!

GREAT FRIEND / JUGS8...

I love the Just Us Girls Challenges each week, but I admit these colors were REALLY HARD...

I used the Stampin' Up set Great Friend for this card, it's such a terrific little set!

Bye for now!

WANDERING SLEIGH / CQC #8 & TESC #92...

You ever see a set & think, "ehhh, that's okay, BUT..." Well, that's how I felt about this set, but I bought it & I love it!

I really liked Taylor's sketch this week... I decided to pair it with the colors from the colourQ challenge.
I'm home with Alex this morning & he's starting to get cranky, so I'll be back in a few!

WANDERING WORDS / CTD #70...

HaPpY tHaNkSgIvInG!!! Hope your day is spent with those you love...

I really love fall colors, so it's hard to let go of them until next year & move on to Christmas... although I really love Christmas, too! The colors over at the Color Throwdown are great this week! The stamp is from a set in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini ~ Wandering Words...

It's late & I have some cooking in the morning before we go to my grandparents... I have about 8 more weeks before I'm due, which is excellent ~ I have a terrific excuse to eat whatever I want this holiday season - YAY!

See you soon!

MERRY PLAID SNOWMEN / Mojo #114, TPE #42 & SCSCC #246

Well, this color combo was definitely a stretch for me...

I don't often play along with the challenges at Splitcoast Stampers... but I kinda liked this week's SCS color challenge, in a funky way, and decided to do it! I paired it with the Mojo sketch and the recipe challenge over at the Pink Elephant.

Using strips of dsp, I made my "plaid"... I like it, but now I know what I would do differently the next time... so you may see this again sometime soon! The image from Stampin' Up! is the More the Merrier... a versatile level 2 hostess set! Hard to photograph was the where I applied Stickles to the snowmen... but if you click on either of the images for a lrger view, you should see them!

Thanks for stopping in!

SEASON OF JOY / CQC # 8 & 2S4Y #40...

So I went a little over board with the faux quilting...

I really couldn't help myself with these colors! This is the latest colourQ challenge, and I paired it with a lovely sketch... somewhat modified by me, over at 2 Sketches 4 You!
Some of the dsp is retired... but the set from Stampin' Up! is called Season of Joy. The UPS man brought me the set this afternoon & I was itching to ink it up!

BLINGY QUILTED LEAF / 2S4Y#40 & OCC CC...

It's a MAN CARD, baby... if you don't look at all the bling, ribbon & faux quilting & only concentrate on the dark colors...lol!

This is my first attempt at 2S4Y's challenge this week, but after finishing it I have mixed feelings about it. I think it needs more white... there's hardly any on here! I decided to join in on the OCC Color Challenge and play, and man, were these hard colors for me! Well, they say hindsight is 20/20!
I used lot of dsp from SU!, most of it retired... I have WAY TOO MUCH paper I think... boxes of it really! The leaves were cut with the Leaves #2 Original die...
Bye for now...

BTW, not sure if it was a blond moment or pregnancy brain... I forgot to publish this post, in case you're wondering why it suddenly appeared!

PARTY HEARTY & EVERYTHING NICE / C4C #12 & EBKCC11...

Jeff's nephew has a birthday coming up, so I made his card early...

When I saw Julie's colors at Easy Breezy Kewl, I immediately thought of a birthday card! Since it's been a while since I played over at Crazy 4 Challenges, I surfed over there and found the perfect sketch for this card!

I used 2 sets for this card, both from Stampin' Up! ~ Party Hearty & Everything Nice.

Nighty night!
