"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SUNDAY STACK~UP / Chex Mix Love...

Hello again! It's time for another Sunday Stack~up! Every Christmas my mom makes a couple batches of the traditional recipe to give away. I love it! But that seems to be the only time we have it.

Right now, though, I happen to have a pantry full of Chex Cereal... and I have been dying to make some Chex Mix... the only thing stopping me is the fear I will eat it all myself. The other thing stopping me is I can't decide on which kind to make! Sweet or savory? I probably have enough cereal to make both...

But here are the top contenders... which would you make?

  1. Buffalo Chex Mix - Caramel Potatoes
  2. Holiday Sriracha Chex Mix - Tablespoon
  3. Chile & Lime Mix - Cookie Madness
  4. Lemon Rosemary Chex Mix - Everyday Sisters
  5. Cinnamon Churro Chex Mix - Crumbs and Chaos
  6. Thai Peanut Chex Mix - Yammie's Noshery
  7. Indian Spiced Chex Mix - Betty Crocker
  8. Sugary Sweet Chex Mix - Somewhat Simple
  9. Valentine's Sweet Mix - Little Birdie Secrets
  10. Cranberry~Nut Cinnamon Chex Mix - Pillsbury

Hope you had an awesome Sunday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY / RS #108...

Finally posting my card for RetroSketches - YAY! Jeff's family had an outside reunion yesterday at his Uncle Hoppi's "compound", so we were out and about all day. (and I am really paying for it today, allergy~wise!) Jeff's family is Dutch/Indonesian, so there was lots of different foods & I took my usual Pineapple Casserole. We had a great time! I made this card for his Aunt Renee - I won't tell you how old she turned, LOL!

The stamp set is from My Favorite Things, Lisa Johnson's Birthday Greetings.

Thanks for stopping by!

FIND JOY / DS #144...

Good morning! It's time for a new Deconstructed Sketch!!! I'm so sorry to be late - I thought I had set this to publish. I don't know why it doesn't work sometimes. Bad allergies again today - I could NOT get to sleep last night and then couldn't get up this morning - big migraine... It's supposed to rain, so maybe the rain will wash some of this pollen away! I hope so! Thank goodness we don't have soccer this week, or I'd be in a sad state!

I used some of my favorite papers and my favorite sentiment set - LJD Cheerful Blessings set from MFT Stamps. I would love to see more like this set - they are so beautiful!

Be sure to to play along and check out all the other ladies wonderful inspiration!

Have an amazing day!

HELLO / CQC #234...

Hey there! Having a good week? We went to the lake for a couple days and lazed around reading, playing Hi Ho Cherry~o and watercolor painting with the kiddies... it was nice! I guess I'm in a very "faux" painterly mood these days, so for my colourQ card today, I just had to use this Watercolor Wonder set from Papertrey, Ink. The die is A Crafter's Workshop - "hello".  I threw on a little washi (that appeared to be a better match than the photo shows!) and some enamel dots, for fun.

Thanks for coming by!

SUNDAY STACK~UP / Washi Love...

What IS it about these little scrumptious rolls of washi goodness that makes me want to hoard them like a frenzied acorn~seeking squirrel in the fall? Every little pattern is just perfect and delicate and sweet, right? I have enough washi that I could probably not buy any for years and still not run out.

I was thinking, besides using them on all my various power cords, and the occasional card or other craft~y project - I need to branch out. I need to use some splashes of washi to color the other facets of my life - the gorgeousness that is washi shouldn't be hidden away in a craft bin, right?

So here are some of my favorite new found uses for this adhesive gold...

  1. Washi Vases - Pretty Handy Girl
  2. DIY Washi Phone Case - Imagine Our Life
  3. Washi Tape Laptop Desk - Sassy Style
  4. DIY Washi Tape Barrettes - We Heart This
  5. Washi Tape Town - Kid Crave
  6. Washi Taped Basket - Create & Babble
  7. Washi Bike - Hema Gallery
  8. Washi Tape Spring Egg Wreath - Tatertots & Jello
  9. Washi Tape Puppets - Dollar Store Mom
  10. DIY Typographic Washi Art - Whimseybox
If you've used washi in some wonderfully ingenious new ways, I'd love to see it! Just leave a comment & lini to it!

Happy Sunday!

THINKING OF YOU / ADFD New Release...

Hello! I am still in the throes of major allergies - I hate to whine, but this pollen is k-i-l-l-i-n-g me... I have used boxes of tissues and even Zyrtec has no power over my predicament. Oh well - onward and upward...

I have been dying to make this card! I got these new MFT stamps - DC Abstract Art, and thought they would be fabulous under the artful and gorgeous lines of Tammy's images from A Day For Daisies.... I used Spring Blossoms Bunch from the newest ADFD release... we also started a new challenge at ADFD to use some Pretty Pastels. It's hard to use watercolor and inkjet images - but these MFT stamps really do the trick!

Be sure to head over to the ADFD blog to see the rest of this week's release, grab the freebie and play along with us!

Have a great day!

HOPPY EASTER / DS #143...

Good morning, again! I'm back with this week's Deconstructed Sketch! This one is super fun! I know my angles are a little off, though, huh? Funny how you look at something, go make it, and then come back to realize it's a little different... I think the "gist" of it is there, though! I did a little "Easter collage~y" thing for the stamping, using Mama Elephant's Honey Bunny - oh my goodness these are adorable!

Be sure to check out the other ladies inspiration and play along!

Big hugs,

Bye for now,

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE / P&Co. and Simple Scrapper...

This is the 21st year my hometown of Enterprise, AL has held the World's Smallest St. Patrick's Day Parade. I can never keep up with when it's going to take place - the whole thing lasts less than 10 minutes! But my mom and Alex happened to be downtown for it this year - they were picking up an ice cream after mom took him to soccer practice!

I made the subway word art for the layout, but you can grab a freebie printable version of it here.

The journaling says:
Alex and Nana happened to be downtown to see this year’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade. For many years Mr. Patrick John Michael Donahue was the official Grand Marshall and sole marcher in the parade. Since his passing, that title now goes to a volunteer of Irish descent. The parade always starts at noon and the route runs from the Court House to the Boll Weevil Monument and back.

I used a template from Simple Scrapper (Sept. 2012 #2 Premium Membership) The kit is Eire Mini Kit by Scotty Girl Designs.

Hugs!

ST. PADDY'S DAY Free Subway Art Printable

(For some reason the background looks grey here, but it's really white!)

I've been working on a St. Patrick's day layout and decided to create a St. Paddy's Day subway art style text for it. After all that work, I thought I would turn it into a printable and share it! The full size version is sized 8.5"x11" at 300 dpi. You can have it free by clicking here.

I will leave the download available for a week or so, but maybe longer, we'll see!

Irish hugs & pinches,
