"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SPARKLES / TAWS BIC #43...

Good morning! We're in the second week of the TAWS Be Inspired Challenge - head over there and play along!!! I love these colors together, they are just scrumptious! I used Holiday Sparkles again, I swear - I love using this set!!!

The kids and I made little button Christmas tree ornaments. SO easy & FUN - they turned out great! We used silver wire and strung them from the bottom up so that we could use the excess to make a loop to hang them with!

Here's the set and the inspiration photo!

Big hugs!!!

MERRY PARADING / P&Co. new Release...

Good morning! I had a little scrappy time last night (yay!) and put together some of the photos from our fun Christmas Parade night! We had such a great time, it was so much fun for Alex and Maisie! Their Godmother, Michele ("Aunt Michele") invited us to ride in their trolley! It was actually an official (old?) trolley from Disney that her hubby bought! How fun is that??? After the first block Alex was already complaining that his arm hurt from waving - LOL!

The supplies are from Pixels and Company - today is release day - WOOHOO!!! They also have some amazing Free With Purchase kits, and another daily Advent freebie download... so check it out!

DIY MINI CHRISTMAS VILLAGE...

Hey again - I wanted to share a tutorial I posted over at Pixels and Company's blog over the weekend. So if you missed it, here it is!

This is a  a VERY EASY and SUPER FUN project for you!  And I bet it's something your kids (or anyone) would have fun making. Start to finish is under 90 minutes and they supplies are pretty cheap!
What you’ll need…
  • Digital kit – I used Mye De Leon's kit,  Peppermint Winter
  • Scissors, craft knife, and/or a paper trimmer
  • Ruler
  • Adhesive, I used a glue pen and craft glue
  • Epsom salt
  • A big glass jar
  • Bottle brush or other decorative mini trees
  • Mini House template (found mine here @ Nicole Heady's blog)

Instructions:

1)   Open a document (8.5″x11″) impost your template and size it to you liking. Erase all the white, just leaving the black outline. My houses are about 2 inches tall, one is 2 1/2". Add your patterned papers on a layer under the template. I inverted my outlines to white, so they are barely visible over the pattern and won't show when I finish. Cut out your houses, score lightly on the fold lines with an craft knife... use a soft touch and don't pierce the paper.

2)   Fold the houses.

3)   Measure the roof and cut out those panels. Glue them down.

4)  Add a line of thick craft glue along the edge of the roof and add Epsom salt for a little "snow".

5)  Add your tree to the jar and enough Epsom salt to the bottom of the jar to hold the tree in place and then add your houses. You're all done!

Have an wonderful day,

HEY SANTA / P&Co. & Simple Scrapper Community Show & Tell...

Hello again! It's time for the Simple Scrapper December Community Show & Tell... and this is my second layout. My first is here. I finally decided to link this one up - it was hard to choose!  Last year my dad helped the kids write cards to Santa, and he even drew in some cute little pictures. He handed them to me on the sly, and I took a picture of them... so sweet!

Since I do digital scrapping, I often try to remember to photograph the types of things a paper scrapper would include in a page - ticket stubs, menus, etc... although these cards probably would have been too big to include even if I was a traditional scrapper. I used one of the Simple Scrapper Story Starters for this layout to focus my attention on the story I wanted to tell.

Happy hopping~

CHRISTMAS MEMORY / P&Co. & Simple Scrapper Community Show & Tell...

Hello & Happy December! The busiest month of the entire year - EEK! My dad came by last week and I was consulting him on the pros and cons of real/fake Christmas trees. He ended up telling me a story I hadn't heard about his mother, who worked a couple jobs, finally getting their tree a few days before Christmas. After finally getting it into the stand they realized it wouldn't stand up straight, so she nailed it to the floor! I can just picture her doing that!

Obviously, not having a photo of it, I decided to find a vintage card to use on the layout since I really wanted to document the story! I used one of the Simple Scrapper story starters for this layout, also!
